Nkwatia Presby Model School (PREMOS) Emerged victorious champions in the just ended Nkwatia Circuit annual sports festival

The Nkwatia circuit of Kwahu East Education Directorate under the Ghana Education Service witnessed a colourful week from Monday 25th to Friday 29th November 2024 as they organised their annual sports festival for basic schools in the Circuit. 

The sports festival was organised in six circuits in the district namely: Nkwatia, Abetifi, Kotoso, Oframase, Hweehwee, and Tafo with the exception of Akwasiho circuit who will commence their festival on the 2nd of December 2024 due to certain inconveniences. This was revealed by the district sports coordinator, Mr. Victor who came to observe the festival as usual as he went round to observe the program in the other circuits in the district.

The activities for this year's sports festival organised in the Nkwatia circuit included; U-15 boys soccer/volleyball, U-15 girls Netball/volleyball, U-13 boys soccer and U-13 girls Netball, which took place on Nkwatia Nana Ayiripe D/A Basic schools sports grounds.

The program was successful as the organizers of the festival worked harder to make it happen as the years gone by. The Zonal sports executives for the Nkwatia circuit are; Mr. Mensah-Boye Jonathan (Chairman), Mr. Nyarko Stephen (Secretary), Mr. Oppong Charles (Organizer) and Mrs. Selina Annor.

Mr. Takie Stephen, the school improvement support officer (SISO) for the Nkwatia circuit was present throughout the week to observe the festival. The District Director of Education, Mr. Somuah George came to observe the festival and watched how students participated in the various selected sporting activities.

Regular teachers in the circuit played a match with Mentees and ended up in a 1-1 draw.

At the end of the festival certificates were issued out to schools who placed first and second in the various games played. 

Students exhibited high level of discipline and decorum as they cheered their teams up during their time of play without cases of hooliganism.
