Education of learners in the Kwahu East District has been a priority for stakeholders in the district. Leaders in the Nkwatia circuit have been working unflinchingly to help learners achieve academic heights in their education and this has been the major priority of the stool house of the Nkwatia traditional area.
This year, a quiz competition under the auspices of His Royal Majesty; Nana Boamah Ayiripe III, Chief of Kwahu Nkwatia and His elders, organised by the Nkwatia Education Committee in partnership with Nkwatia Royal Club had 9 participating schools from the Junior High Schools in the community in the areas of English Language, Social Studies, Integrated Science and Mathematics.
It was sponsored by Regent Pharmacy, and witnessed by various opinion leaders, including the Honourable Member of Parliament for the Abetifi Constituency, the District Director of Eduction and the Education directorate, Esteemed members of the Mireku Family who chaired the program, parents, Teachers from the various schools in the community and learners from all the Basic schools in the Nkwatia township.
At the end of the competition, Prizes and certificates were awarded to all participates, and Special prizes were awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd schools which included School bags and Cash.

1st St. Peter's JHS 44 points
2nd D/A "A" JHS 22 points
3rd R/C JHS 19 points
4th Premos JHS 18 points
5th Presby JHS 17 points
5th S.D.A JHS 17 points
7th Methodist JHS 9 points
8th D/A "B" JHS 8 points
9th Hope Ridge JHS 6 points.
It was communicated to the general public by the chairman of the Nkwatia Education Committee, Nana Osafo Kantanka, that this is not the first and last of such a competition but there will be annual organisation of such competition for learners in the community so as to identify the strength and weakness in the studies of learners to enable stakeholders to draw comprehensive policies and lasting solutions to the educational needs of the learners in the basic schools.
